Grilled Pork Sticks with Ginger and Sesame Seeds

Ingredients
 
3 lbs boneless pork chops
 
Marinade
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp fresh minced ginger
2 Tbsp sesame oil
4 Tbsp honey
4 Tbsp soy sauce
6 Tbsp oil
¼ tsp hot chili powder (cayenne pepper)
 
Garnish
3 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
 


Preparation steps:
  1. Cut each pork chop into 4 strips.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients. Add the pork strips to the bowl and mix until well coated.
    Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours to overnight.
  3. Soak the wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes. Thread the pork strips onto the skewers (about 20 skewers total).
  4. Grill the pork skewers over medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side, basting with the remaining marinade as they cook.
Serving: Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve.

  • 3 lbs pork chops:
    about 5-6 pieces.

  • Toasted sesame seeds:
    Heat a non-stick pan over high
    heat and toast the seeds for
    a few minutes, stirring frequently
    to prevent burning.
